On Wednesday, May 11th, 2011,  Roosevelt House hosted the second of a series of talks at Roosevelt House in Public Policy and Human Rights by new members of the Hunter Faculty. Ruchi Chaturvedi, Assistant Professor of Anthropology discussed Clashing for Justice: Political Violence, Agency and Law in Democratic India. Professor Chaturvedi is the author of Democratic Dark Side: The Work of Politics, Violence, and Law in South India, which has recently been accepted for publication at Duke University Press. Her essay on Hindu Right-wing communities and their understanding of violence and culpability was published in Cultural Anthropology November 2011.
