PROGRAM

Please join us at Roosevelt House for a special event commemorating the 75th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and the entry of the United States into World War II.

Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Steve Twomey, author of Countdown to Pearl Harbor: The Twelve Days to the Attack, will be in conversation with Craig Symonds, retired professor of history, The United States Naval Academy and the author of The U.S. Navy: A Concise History.  They will explore the warnings, clues, missteps, and errors in judgment revealed in Twomey’s dramatic account of the days immediately preceding the Japanese raid, and in his revelatory portraits of key figures on both sides.

Rick Atkinson, the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of An Army at Dawn: The War in North Africa, 1942-1943, has called Countdown to Pearl Harbor “a fine, compelling account of the immediate prelude to that infamous day in December 1941.”

We hope you will be able to attend this important discussion.
