PROGRAM

The Women’s City Club of New York (WCC) hosted its first Perkins-Roosevelt Symposium on Friday, June 17, in partnership with the Frances Perkins Center and Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute at Hunter College. The symposium paid homage to WCC founding members, Frances Perkins and Eleanor Roosevelt, with a keynote address by NYS Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul, and a panel discussion on Securing Economic Justice for Women Today: Lessons from Eleanor Roosevelt and Frances Perkins. This year may be the first year that a woman is elected President of the U.S., and this event recognized the women’s rights activists and leaders who paved the way.
