“9 A.M. (CUNY) REVISITING THE GREAT SOCIETY: THE ROLE OF GOVERNMENT FROM F.D.R. AND L.B.J. TO TODAY The roots and legacy of President Lyndon B. Johnson are explored by Robert A. Caro, his Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer; former Vice Present Walter F. Mondale; former Senator George S. McGovern; and the journalist Bill Moyers in this two-hour report, culled from a symposium presented last month by the Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute at Hunter College. Highlights include a panel discussion moderated by Bob Schieffer of CBS News as well as archival photographs and audio recordings of Johnson in conversation with the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and presenting a speech in 1965 before a joint session of Congress. The program will be repeated a 3 and 9 p.m.”
