Earlier this week U.S.A. Today published an opinion piece by Juan Diaz (’18) on the impacts of Donald’s Trump’s executive order to restrict birthright citizenship on immigrant families.
Diaz graduated with a Bachelor’s in Sociology with a Certificate in Public Policy and Minor in Human Rights. He was also part of the second cohort of the Eva Kastan Grove Fellowship at Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute. Diaz is currently a 4-year doctoral student in Social Welfare at The CUNY Graduate Center, and his research focuses on examining the immigration experience of the Ecuadorian community in New York and the impact on first-generation youth.
Diaz is an adjunct professor at The Silberman School of Social Work, teaching Social Welfare Policy and Services, and he is the New York State Policy Manager at the Children’s Defense Fund.
