      Jody Schimmel Hyde is a senior health researcher in the Center for Studying Disability Policy at Mathematica Policy Research whose primary research interest is in policies to promote independence and self-sufficiency among individuals with disabilities as well as the work and well-being of federal disability beneficiaries.  She has a special interest in employment, health care policy, and the transition from work to retirement.  Her current work is primarily funded by the Social Security Administration (SSA) and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR)); in the past, her work has been funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
