      Marie Mazzeo is a senior at the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College and a member of the John P. McNulty Scholars Program for Excellence in Math and Science. She will graduate Spring 2018 with a B.A. in Biochemistry and a Certificate in Public Policy.

      Marie is dedicated to scientific research and currently studies the implications of alternative polyadenylation (APA) as a member of Dr. Frida E. Kleiman’s laboratory. After graduation, Marie will engage in a year-long research project studying Mycobacterium tuberculosis in Dr. William R. Jacob’s laboratory at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

      Marie is also passionate about health equity and serves as a Leadership Council Member for Peer Health Exchange. She plans to attend medical school to pursue her dream of merging her interests in health, scientific research, and public policy.
