Bobbie Sackman, MSW, has been Director of Public Policy with LiveOn NY since 1989. Dur-ing Mayor Bill de Blasio’s recent affordable housing campaign to modernize zoning laws that would facilitate building senior housing, Bobbie led LiveOn NY’s Affordable Senior Housing Coalition to successfully win major zoning changes. In 2014, Bobbie successfully worked with state and city officials to win a substantial income eligibility increase for SCRIE, from $29,000 to $50,000. Under Bobbie’s leadership, LiveOn NY’s Elder Abuse Coalition has spearheaded citywide and statewide campaigns for elder abuse funding and legislation to protect and provide services for elder abuse survivors. Bobbie has organized the advocacy campaign that more than tripled city funding for elder abuse prevention services. Bobbie holds a BA from Hunter College and an MSW from Ohio State University. She has been an adjunct in the Hunter College Urban Affairs and Planning Masters degree program and Yeshiva University’s Wurzweiler School of Social Work.
