Charles Bachmann came to Hunter from his home state of Connecticut. Since arriving, he has focused on achieving fluency in Mandarin, having spent nearly 6 months both in China and Taiwan. In addition to studying Chinese, Charles has focused his studies on political and ethical issues, both from a philosophical and public policy perspective. His paper “Backlog in the Bronx,” about the felony backlog in the Bronx court system, was published in the Hunter College Urban Review. His recently completed public policy capstone focused on student privacy, and his upcoming honors thesis in philosophy will examine the changing nature of privacy in the era of big data. After graduating from Hunter, Charles plans to pursue a degree in law.
