• About:

Crystal Abban is a senior at Hunter College graduating with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor concentration in Public Policy. She was a member of the Public Service Scholar Program where she interned at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House working as an advocate for public programs like SNAP and Health Insurance ensuring that residents receive the benefits they deserve. This sparked Crystal’s interest in public programs and the different ways in which they could be improved to better serve the community and improve the quality of life overall. Accordingly, her capstone project investigates how the federally funded School Breakfast Programs may be improved to increase participation rates and address issues of child hunger in the Bronx.

After graduation she plans to earn her Masters in Public Health where she will continue pursuing her interests in public policy as related to youth advancement, nutrition and health.
