      Katharine Bloeser, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and an Advisory Board Member of the LGBT Social Science & Public Policy Center at Hunter College. Katharine is a licensed clinical social worker in the District of Colum-bia and has worked with veterans at the Washington, DC VA Medical Center for most of her ca-reer where she treated veterans in both post-deployment health and PTSD clinics and conducted research on access to care and the needs of key groups of veterans. Her research focuses on the intersection of identities within veteran populations. Katharine’s work examines the needs of marginalized veterans including those who identify as LGBTQ. She also currently serves as a researcher with the War Related Illness and Injury Study Center at the Washington, DC VA Medical Center. Katharine also serves as the faculty advisor for the Project for Return and Op-portunity in Veterans Education (PROVE) which serves student veterans in the CUNY system.
