• About:

Nicole Krishtul is a senior at Hunter College in the Roosevelt Scholars program studying Political Science and Public Policy with a confrontation in Urban Studies. She was also a member of Hunter’s Jewish Foundation for the Education of Women. Both programs helped shaped her interest in leadership and public service.
Nicole has many urban policy interests from housing to education, but her primary interest is citizen participation in the decision-making process. She is interested in how increasing people’s participation in shaping their own communities can help develop more equitable and sustainable cities from a grassroots, bottom-up approach.
She is grateful to have worked with a professor at Hunter College on a book about New York City and to have studied urbanization in India through the Watson Fellowship. Following graduation, Nicole hopes to either work for the New York City government or a non-profit with a progressive mission.
