      R. Shareah Taleghani is Assistant Professor and Director of Middle East Studies at Queens College, City University of New York. She is currently completing a book manuscript on Syrian prison literature and human rights. She is also the co-editor with Ammiel Alcalay and co-translator with the New York Translation Collective of poet Faraj Bayraqdar’s Dove in Free Flight, forthcoming from Upset Press.
