PROGRAM

Please join us at Roosevelt House as we welcome William vanden Heuvel, chairman of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park and former U. S. Ambassador to the United Nations, to mark the publication of Freedom From Fear: The Life and Presidency of Franklin Delano Roosevelt,  the story of the Roosevelt years and their continuing impact on America and the world, as narrated by Ambassador vanden Heuvel.

Ambassador vanden Heuvel, in conversation with Harold Holzer, the Jonathan F. Fanton Director of Roosevelt House, will discuss why FDR was the greatest American president of the 20th century, including the distinctive qualities of his political and military leadership, and his unique ability to communicate with the American public and a global audience. They will also discuss the current state of political rhetoric, as reflected in the presidential primary campaigns, and as President Obama begins his final year in office.
