Seminar Leader: Georges Benjamin, Joan H. Tisch Distinguished Fellow in Public Health Description: “Why Public Health Matters” This seminar will examine the impact of public health policy as a tool to improve health, explore emerging research in this area and define new areas of exploration for future policy research. Issues such as tobacco, vaccine, social, transportation, food & nutrition & other social policies that effect health are great topics for us to discuss. In light of the impending hurricane & the 10 anniversary of 911 – public health emergency preparedness might also be a good topic.
