How is income distributed in our own country, across countries, and globally? What is the economic status of the “middle class”? Can a more equal and just distribution be achieved? Bill Kelly, interim chancellor of the City University of New York, hosted an intimate conversation addressing these and related questions with Graduate Center scholars Branko Milanovic, lead economist in the research department at the World Bank, and Janet Gornick, director of LIS, a cross-national data archive in Luxembourg.
