Join us for a conversation featuring Michael I. Sovern, President Emeritus of Columbia University and author of the new book, An Improbable Life: My Sixty Years at Columbia and Other Adventures. Mr. Sovern will reflect on his distinguished career in higher education and key issues in academia, such as affordability, affirmative action, and the role of government funding. He will also speak about his many off-campus adventures, including helping the victims of the Tuskegee syphilis experiment, stepping into the chairmanship of Sotheby’s, playing a role in the theater world as president of the Shubert Foundation, and chairing the Commission on Integrity in Government. The conversation will be moderated by Roosevelt House’s Interim Director Jonathan Fanton.
