About:
Brittany Guzman-Cholula is a senior at Hunter College majoring in Economics, with a minor in Public Policy and Political Science and a Certificate in Business Studies. She’s a JFEW Scholar and Grove Fellow who cares deeply about making healthcare more accessible for immigrant communities. For her capstone project, she researched how undocumented immigrants access healthcare in the U.S., focusing on how California’s Medi-Cal program could be a blueprint to expand Medicaid nationwide. This summer, she’ll be working with the Urban Justice Center to continue learning how policy and advocacy can lead to real-world change. She is passionate about utilizing research, data, and community voices to help transform policy ideas by focusing on people’s lives.
