      Nidal Bitari is a Syrian Palestinian based in D.C., where he is Senior Programs Manager of People Demand Change. Born in the Yarmouk camp for Palestinian refugees in Damascus, Bitari earned his master’s in Political Sociology from Damascus University in 2010, then managed the Iraqi refugees program in Syria until January 2012. Afterwards he worked as a project coordinator in the Arab NGO Network for Development in Beirut, Lebanon. He has worked as a journalist and researcher with NPR’s Beirut office and other news outlets and websites in the Arab world and the U.S.
