About:
Sharon Avnon is originally from Israel. She moved to New York City and transferred to Hunter College last year, after completing her first year of studies at IDC Herzeliya, one of the most prominent academic institutes in Israel today. Before starting her studies, Sharon completed two years of mandatory service in the Israeli military and volunteered with the Jewish Agency as a camp counselor for two consecutive summers in Chicago and London. She then worked as a flight attendant for El Al, the Israeli airline, where she got to see the world and have amazing experiences that have impacted her greatly.
After a lifetime’s worth of experiences, Sharon is now pursuing her dream career in sustainable development and environmental policy, a field she is very passionate about. She is currently a senior at Hunter College, majoring in Sustainability Studies, minoring in Economics and pursuing a certificate in Public Policy. Sharon strives for academic excellence and has made the Dean’s List every semester of her academic career. Her goal is to impact the way we live our lives in order to ensure our and future generations’ happy, healthy, and sustainable life on this planet.
