PROGRAM
Roosevelt House is pleased to present an evening with Dr. Nancy O’Reilly, an international philanthropist, author, educator, and passionate advocate for women’s empowerment. She founded Women Connect4Good, Inc., a 501(c)3 foundation, to support women and achieve gender equality. She has dedicated her career to supporting organizations that work to advance women’s leadership and promote equality of women and girls. Dr. O’Reilly will be in conversation with former longtime congresswoman, now the Eleanor Roosevelt Distinguished Leader in Residence at Roosevelt House, Hon. Carolyn B. Maloney.
Dr. O’Reilly’s award-winning books, written to equip women for leadership roles and professional success, include: Mission Matters: Mission-Based Leaders Share Inspiring Stories on Power and Purpose; In This Together: How Successful Women Support Each Other in Work and Life; Leading Women: 20 Influential Women Share Their Secrets to Leadership, Business, and Life; and Timeless Women Speak: Feeling Youthful at Any Age. Her next book, Timeless Women Speak: Power, Purpose, and Feeling Your Best at Every Age, is scheduled to be released this summer.
Driven by her commitment to gender equity, Dr. O’Reilly and her team continue to gain momentum with the Lift Women Up campaign, which has connected thousands of women with free content, expert insights, and a vast network of support. Originally created to complement a documentary that aired on PBS highlighting her work, #LiftWomenUp emphasizes the daily actions we can all take to advance gender parity. Dr. O’Reilly is also the host of the podcast Smart, Amazing Conversations with Dr. Nancy, which, for over a decade, has featured hundreds of guests on topics ranging from the invisibility experienced by women as they age, to innovative strategies for driving social change.
Dr. O’Reilly’s contributions have earned her numerous awards including the prestigious Mosaic Award from Diversity Woman Media, and a Women Making History Award from the National Women’s History Museum. In 2018, she was also honored in Washington, D.C. at the Canales Project with 20 other women, including Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.
